Review of "The Circle"

"Miss Evelyn Laye and Mr Frank Lawton head the cast in a revival of Mr. W. Somerset Maugham's comedy The Circle, which is to open at the Savoy Theatre on June 4 for a six-week season. Miss Laye will play her first character as Lady Cathering Champion-Chene and Mr Lawton will play her former husband Clive. Mr William Kendall is Lord Porteous, Miss Christine Finn is Elizabeth. Mr Richard Gale plays Arnold and Mr Clive Russel is Edward Luton. The Circle was seen in London in 1945. It is being played this year at the express request of Mr. Maugham. He was asked which play he would like produced for his ninety-first birthday and he chose The Circle"
